Installations, repairs, and periodic maintenance

Yushin has a team of certified technicians across the country ready to help you when you need it.  They can assist you with new installations; asset relocations from other facilities; robot modifications; and trouble calls.  Get the most out of your equipment.  Have a Yushin field service tech come in to perform a preventative maintenance routine or upgrade your equipment.  Our technicians can also take care of on-site training needs.

YAI’s field service staff enables the company to provide efficient and low-cost installations and service as well as a quick and timely response to customer needs in general. Yushin engineers frequently visit customer facilities as part of the applications engineering and specification process. YAI offers preventative maintenance and service contracts and provides ongoing application assistance for changing customer needs regarding tooling, software and downstream equipment integration.

General Rates for Installation, Startup, and Service

Monday through Friday:
$1,200 per 8-hour day
Up to 4 hours is considered a half day and will be invoiced at $600.00
Up to 8 hours is considered a full day and will be invoiced at $1,200.00
Over the 8-hour work day will be invoiced at $225.00 per hour

Weekends and Holidays:
Up to 4 hours is considered a half day and will be invoiced at $1,200.00
Up to 8 hours is considered a full day and will be invoiced at $2,400.00
Over the 8-hour work day will be invoiced at $450.00 per hour

Inclusive of basic machine operation training
Inclusive of travel time, travel expenses and living expenses (airfare is not included)
Door-to-door travel time between YAI’s facility and the customer’s facility is chargeable at the rates shown above.
Rigging and mounting of the robot(s) is the customer’s responsibility and is not included in the rates above.
This installation estimate assumes that the robot(s) will be mounted prior to our visit.

The key to continued reliability

In addition to on-site maintenance and service, Yushin America’s Service Dept. offers in-house repairs of hand-held controllers, touch screens and different robot components.  Just contact us for a repair quote and then ship your defective components to Yushin America’s headquarters in Rhode Island for fast, Yushin-certified service.

Standard repair rates are below:

Hand-held Controller Repair:
Repair Evaluation – $155.00 each (this fee is waived if the repair is completed by YAI)
Repair Fee – cost of parts needed and labor
Products – HOPII, HOPIII, HOPIII-M, HOPIII-G, HOP Five
Note: For HOPIII-G hand-held controllers that cannot be repaired, the motherboard can be replaced for a fee of $620.00 each.

Interface Box Repair:

Save Money and Downtime with Preventative Maintenance

Preventative Maintenance provided by Yushin America can supplement your own in-house maintenance department.  Our certified technicians will provide you with cost-effective maintenance programs for your Yushin equipment.  Properly maintained robots have a longer life cycle and experience less downtime.  Anybody in the plastics industry will know that downtime can be costly: assuming an average stopped line cost of $75/hour, one unexpected 12-hour downtime for repairs would cost $900.00!

PM functions include:

  • Removal of any  dirt or grime from the robot, E.O.A.T. and controller
  • Check for signs of wear or damage on the bearings and rails and grease where applicable
  • Adjust belt tension
  • Clean filters
  • Confirm all fasteners are secure, including nuts, bolts, tie wraps and the pedestal and spacer
  • Check pneumatics for leaks or damaged or loose fittings: FRL, exhaust manifolds vacuum units and E.O.A.T.
  • Check all cables for visible damage and verify signals from the sensors to the controller
  • Check control box, relays in the interface box and all interlocks to the press
  • Ensure that cycle time is optimized by adjusting daylight on the IMM and speeds and timers on the robot
  • Ensure smooth operation of the robot by adjusting cushions and speed controls on valves
  • Report any damaged or wearing parts to the customer, advise which should be replaced and assist with ordering parts from Yushin
